Because it is intensive and pretty much sums up questions I've been asked, I'm posting A. Bomire's Hint File here for the Pool Party FAQ.
I keep getting messages about being thirsty.
Do something about it! First, look in the cooler, where you'll find sodas. However, they are too warm to drink. So ask Tim about it ("ASK TIM ABOUT ICE/COOLER/SODAS"). He'll tell you that someone needs to go to the store for ice, but Chris is the only one with a car. So, ask Chris about his car ("ASK CHRIS ABOUT ICE/STORE/CAR"). Chris will give you the keys since he doesn't have any money. Next, you'll need money so talk to Rochelle about that. ("ASK ROCHELLE ABOUT ICE/STORE/MONEY") Finally, get in Chris' car and you'll drive to the store and buy ice. When you get back, put the ice in the cooler and you'll drink a now-cool soda. Ah, refreshing! Last, give the keys back to Chris or he'll keep yelling at you about them.
Nothing much seems to be happening. What am I missing?
You may not be missing anything. At certain points in the story you are given an opportunity to explore and talk to the characters. Talk to the various characters about themselves and other topics that may come to mind, or explore Tim's house and the surrounding area. Eventually, something will happen to move the story along.
Tim wants me to see if Heidi is coming. I've looked around, but can't find her. Where is she?
When you were looking around, did you find Heidi's house? It is across the street from Tim's. You can go to her house, but you can't get inside as the door is locked. What do you normally do when you arrive at someone's house? "KNOCK ON DOOR" to get Heidi to join you. She will then follow you back to the party.
Rochelle has brought out some snacks and everyone is just standing around eating them. Nothing else seems to be happening.
This is another time period where you can explore areas. If you've already explored as much as you want, you can join your friends and "EAT SNACKS".
Tim, Danny and I were playing ball in the pool, but the ball went on the roof. Tim asked me to go get it but how do I reach it?
Tim's house is a two-story house, so you can't reach it from the ground. Did you happen to find a ladder in your explorations? There is one in the shed. Enter the shed to get the ladder. Bring it back to the backyard. Here you can "SET/PUT/LEAN/MOVE LADDER AGAINST/ON HOUSE/WALL" to lean the ladder against the house. Now you can climb the ladder to retrieve the ball.
I've got the ball but nothing else seems to be happening. Is there something else I'm supposed to do?
Do you remember what Tim asked you to do when you hit the ball onto the roof? As a matter of fact, isn't Tim asking you do bring the ball back right now? The game you are playing with Tim and Danny isn't over yet. Enter the pool and join Tim and Danny in the shallow end. Don't forget to bring the ball with you!
I brought the ball back to the pool and now it went behind the shed. Now what do I do?
Well, Brenda decided to run back and get it. You can either go behind the shed and get it yourself, or wait for Brenda to return with the ball.
Suzie has arrived and is lying out in the backyard. Is there something I'm supposed to be doing with her?
Try talking with Suzie. Ask her about herself ("ASK SUZIE ABOUT SUZIE"). She'll tell you that she is getting itchy lying on the grass. If you look in Lia's backpack in the living room, you'll find a towel you can give to Suzie. She'll then tell you about how she might need suntan lotion. The suntan lotion is in Cara's gym bag in the backyard. After Suzie has this, she'll mention how thirsty she is. You've already found the sodas in the cooler. Get one for Suzie.
Suzie is lying out with the suntan lotion. Every time I talk to her about it, she gets up and sits in the patio chairs. I can't get her to do anything else. What am I missing?
When Suzie first arrives, Tim will mention something to you about how she hates it when guys fawn all over her. He'll say this also if you ask him about Suzie directly. Later, Suzie mentions that she might need certain objects (beach towel, suntan lotion, soda). If you give them directly to her, she'll get a little upset that you are "fawning". So, give them to other people in the backyard (Chris, Tim and/or Danny). Suzie will get upset at them. Eventually, you can talk to her and she'll ask you to put lotion on her.
Suzie and Chris went into the house together. Where are they?
Have you read over the previous hint? Well, the same applies here, except in this case Suzie and Chris got chummy together. They've slipped off to her basement room. You can peek at them, or just wait around until they come back.
I put suntan lotion on Suzie and she left. I can't find her. Where is she?
Suzie said she was going to wash off some of the lotion. She's probably in the shower. Go into the house and upstairs to the bathroom.
Suzie went to the bathroom to take a shower. I can hear the shower running but I can't get in. What am I doing wrong?
You waited too long. Suzie locks the door when she takes a shower. Eventually, she'll come out and rejoin the party, but your opportunity to get with her in the bathroom is over.
How do I score with Brenda?
Brenda is a little shy, but she does think you're cute. Perhaps if you got her alone you could try something with her. The only time Brenda is alone is when she goes behind the shed to get the beach ball. Join her and see what happens.
Brenda and I are together but she keeps leaving. How do I get her to stay?
You can't. Brenda will get nervous about being away from the party for so long. There's nothing you can do to prevent her from leaving.
I had sex with Brenda but then Danny got really angry and I had to leave the party. How can I prevent this?
You can't. Danny likes Brenda - a fact he'll happily share with you if you ask him about her. If you and Brenda have sex the game is pretty much over. You'll have to limit your activity with Brenda to stuff that doesn't involve intercourse.
How do I score with Lia?
Lia is interested in you, as well as other boys at the party. She just needs a private time to get together with you. If you go into the shed she'll join you for a little making out. This can easily lead to more.
Lia and I are together, but she keeps leaving. How do I get her to stay?
You can't. Lia will get nervous about being away from the party for so long. There's nothing you can do to prevent her from leaving.
I had sex with Lia, but then Tim got really angry and threw me out of the party. How can I prevent this?
You can't. Tim likes Lia - a fact he'll happily share with you if you ask him about her. If you get together with Lia you'll have to limit your activity to non-intercourse.
How do I score with Alanna?
Alanna is more interested in girls than in guys, something you can learn by talking to other people at the party. However, in the right circumstances she can get interested. If you get Tim and Lia together, and Danny and Brenda together, Alanna will be smitten by the romance of the situation. She'll start dancing with you in the living room, but only if she is alone. After this, you can try stuff with her.
I've done some stuff with Alanna, but she keeps leaving before I can screw her. How do I stop that?
You can't. Remember, Alanna is really more interested in girls. She's willing to try some things with you but not everything.
How do I score with Cara?
Like the other girls, you first need to get Cara alone. The only place this happens is late in the game when Cara decides to go for a swim by herself.
I'm with Cara in the pool, but I can't do anything with her. What gives?
You need to get the ball rolling. Try asking her about herself, specifically, ask her about her tits. She'll offer to let you touch them. Do so, and she will start getting turned on enough to do other things.
Heidi ran away after Suzie arrived. Where did she go?
She ran home. If you go to her house, the door will be left unlocked. She won't answer if you knock, but you can enter the house uninvited to see how she is doing.
I tried to get into Heidi's house after she returned there but the door is locked. When I knock on the door, I can hear Heidi and Alanna inside. How do I get in?
You can't. You've missed your opportunity with Heidi.
Okay, I'm with Heidi in her living room and she is obviously upset. What do I do now?
Have you tried talking to her? Ask her about herself and she'll tell you she's upset about something to do with Suzie. Ask her about Suzie, and she'll lay out how ugly she feels because all the boys like Suzie more. You need to make her feel better. You can "HUG HEIDI" or "TELL HEIDI ABOUT HEIDI" to tell her you think she's beautiful. You'll kiss her to convince her of this and she'll take you to her bedroom.
Heidi and I have gotten together in her bedroom. Whenever I try to leave, Heidi asks me to stay. When I say "yes", the game ends. How can I continue the game?
Just tell Heidi "no", and you can leave. Heidi will be upset, because she is emotionally vulnerable right now and wants you to stay with her. However, you can leave and possibly come back later. But remember, once Alanna goes to join her, Heidi locks the door and you are locked out.
How do I score with Rochelle?
You and Rochelle already share a sexual past. So, there isn't really a lot you need to do with her. In fact, just talk to her about sex and she'll be happy to join you in her bedroom.
Rochelle says she's going up to her bedroom, but when I go up there she isn't there. Where is she?
Rochelle isn't going to wait up in her bedroom all day. You probably took too long to join her and she got bored and decided to leave. She's probably in one of two places: she could have gone back to the kitchen, or if Suzie has arrived then she has gone to run errands.
Rochelle has gone up to her bedroom a couple of times, but now she is giving me the cold shoulder. How do I get her upstairs again?
You can't. You've obviously told Rochelle you'd meet her upstairs more than once and left her alone too long. She's not willing to play around anymore.
Rochelle has left to run errands. Is she ever coming back?
Yes, eventually. However, depending upon how you proceed in the game, you may not see her again. There are certain actions that can cause the game to end before she returns to the party.
I'm in the bedroom with Rochelle but Tim and Danny keep catching me with her. What can I do about them?
You'll obviously have to keep them busy. One way is to get them interested in other girls at the party. Tim likes Lia, and Brenda likes Danny. However, neither one will let you tell their potential partner about their feelings while they are in the same room. So wait until Danny and Brenda are in separate rooms and Tim and Lia are in separate rooms. Then tell each of them about the other. They will hook up and spend the rest of the party sitting together in the patio chairs. They'll be too busy with each other to come into the house and catch you and Rochelle together.
After I get together with Rochelle, the party breaks up. Is that all there is?
In essence, yes. Once you proceed past simple petting with Rochelle, you pretty much lose interest in the party. Thus, the party is over.
Aaagh! I want to score with all of the girls! How do I do this?
You can't. Well, I should say you can't score with all of the girls in the same game. You can score with each girl (except Alanna, who will only let you go so far), but with many of them this is a game ending experience. The only girls you can go all the way with and not have it affect your interaction with others are Cara, Suzie and Heidi. However, getting together with Heidi and leaving her can affect the ending you see at the end of the game. Also, you can have sexual encounters with Lia and Brenda without proceeding to intercourse and still successfully complete the game.
Bonus Scenes
- Before knocking on Heidi's door to get her to join you, try going into her side yard. You'll find a window looking into her bedroom. Look through the window to watch Heidi change into her bathing suit.
- When Rochelle is in the house, try turning on the stereo. At some point, a song will come on that Rochelle really likes. She'll join you in the living room and dance. Then she'll ask you to join her. "DANCE WITH ROCHELLE" to enjoy a scene of you and Rochelle dancing together.
- When you climb the ladder to get the ball, you have a perfect opportunity to look in the bathroom window and spy on Heidi and Alanna.
- When you are in the deep end of the pool, climb out. You'll get a message about the water from the water pump pushing against your crotch. If you get back into the pool, you can use the water pump. Try rubbing up against it ("RUB AGAINST WATER PUMP" or "RUB COCK AGAINST WATER PUMP"). Don't do this with Danny right there next to you. You can get several different messages about watching the various girls around the pool.
- If you've discovered the water pump as described above, you can also "RUB CARA AGAINST WATER PUMP" or "MOVE CARA AGAINST WATER PUMP" and have a scene with her there.
- The upstairs bathroom window is the perfect vantage point to look out at the girls in the backyard. If you find yourself getting excited, try masturbating to each girl for some relief.
- You can fool around a little with Rochelle in the kitchen. But, remember that the kitchen is just too open an area to go too far.
- Scattered around the house are various garments that you can use for sexual fantasies. You can masturbate to most of the articles of clothing.
- If Suzie and Chris sneak off together, go down to the basement to spy on them.
